Albania

Ah, Albania, a timeswept land of sweet cats, belligerent dogs, and belligerent-er drivers. Grabbing the bike in Podgorica, I rode to Shkodër where, for the first time on this trip, I booked a hostel dorm room. And I'm too old for that shit. But I endured the tribulations of the top bunk because I do enjoy meeting other travelers. I learned about Theth, Mike Tyson's favorite national park, and decided to head there for a Trek.

I went for a hike to the "blue eye" with a few others, and though we figured the hostel dogs would surely turn around after a few hundred meters, or the first bridge, they ended up hiking the full 16km with us. Afterwards, to thwart the cold, we all huddled around the cozy fireplace. On the ride back from Theth, it snowed on me for a bit 🥶

In Shkodër I linked up with the indomitable @les_bycoeurs again for a lesson in French cuisine. From there I made it down the coast, got soaked in heavy rain over Llogara pass, and did the first wild camping of the trip.

2/10 didn't run into Voldemort.
